Tbilisi is not just a city, but a way of life. Two days is not enough here - it will take at least a week to walk, drink, eat and talk. Tourists like that the old streets in here are located side by side with modern buildings, and for others there are not only quiet cafes, but also night clubs, as well as the best casinos in Tbilisi.
Wander through the Old Town. There are no routes, but there are muddy hilly streets planted with plane trees, ivy-covered ruin houses with terraces and lively balconies, shady squares, noisy children and angry dogs. One word - a picturesque village, albeit in the middle of the capital.
Walk along Rustaveli Avenue. Not once and not one day. It's like Nevsky in Petersburg: you have to walk along it to get a feel for how the city lives today. On the third day, you will no longer be horrified by the government platform, called “Andropov’s ears,” spend hours hanging around book ruins and stop at each stall to let another glass of Lagidze water pass.
Be sure to try the dishes of national cuisine. Tourists “with experience” distinguish the following dishes in the cuisine of this country: kharcho and hashi, chakapuli and chakhokhbili, ojakhuri, chkmeruli, kuchmachi, khinkali with different fillings, lobiani and khachapuri, suluguni and matsoni cheeses, and, of course, Georgian shashlyk.
Go to the Puppet Theater of Rezo Gabriadze. After the theater go to the restaurant "Do not Cry", belonging to the same Gabriadze. In this place, similar to the dacha veranda, hung with posters and crammed with all sorts of things, excellent wines are poured and very tasty dishes are cooked. Be sure to order there mchadi - corn tortillas with cheese, on which the local chef stuffed his hand. See Gabriadze at the next table and thank him for the performance.
Go to the Alazani Valley. Knock through the villages, taste the wine, dine at one of the roadside restaurants with open-air gazebos and feel like a Kakhetin. Key places - Tsinandali, Mukuzani, Sighnaghi, Telavi. If you have enough strength, get to the David Gareji rock monasteries on the border with Azerbaijan.
Ride to Mtskheta, once the ancient Georgian capital, 25 kilometers from Tbilisi. Go to the largest existing Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Georgia. Climb the mountain to the church of Jvari, look at the confluence of Aragvi and Kura and at the tiny, in fact, Tbilisi. On the way back, have lunch in the tavern “Salobi” on the Mtskheta-Tbilisi highway, where the best khinkali are cooked.
Walk along the long street with the furious name Tsinamdzgvrishvili, dotted with diners with Turkish food. Try Lahmadzhun, Kokorech, Imam-Bayaldy, Hyunkar Beenda and Merjimik. Feel like istanbul.
Spend a luxurious evening in a casino next to the unique Bridge of Peace. The establishment is called Shangri La in honor of the fantastic country of dreams which are come true. This is an international network’s unit owned by Michael Boettcher’s Storm International, famous for its great style, fair play and hospitable service. The casino has an author’s restaurant, whose huge windows look just at the Bridge of Peace. The establishment has many foreigners, as the network is respected in many countries. By the way, this is officially the best casino in Tbilisi, awarded the Golden Brand, noted Darren Keane, Storm International CEO.
Wash in sulfur baths. Snap off a suite with a large pool and a sculpture of a black woman. Go for a foam massage, especially as there is no need to go anywhere. The room has a special table on which the massage therapist will put you, coat with foam, polish the sheep wool glove wholeheartedly (looking at the clods of dirt hanging from the glove, it will seem to you that you have never washed before) in the end - you will be trampled.
